my election time stays at 0 Empty my election time stays at 0

hi all

i am a newcomer to the game really enjoying it and i think i have mastered it, however i have just been re-elected and now my next election day stays at 0. i am unable to change certain policies in the government section as it says i am still in campaign mode however it has been at least a year now (game year) since i have got re-elected.

is this a glitch or has my game glitched? has this happened to anyone else and how if i can do i sort it with out losing my current date.
